How Polyester Insulation is Made

Others may be blended with products like wool. It pays to ask what the polyester product you are interested in is composed of.

Typically, polyester insulation comes in the form of blankets or rolls which are available in widths suited to standard spacings of wall studs, ceiling or floor joists. They sometimes come in segments which are often referred to as Batts or biscuits.

These forms of insulation may be installed in open walls during construction or home renovation; or installed in the ceilings of existing homes provided there is sufficient crawl space. Loose fill materials are available as well and they can be blown into cavities.
